Soy Wax Compared to Paraffin Wax

Find out more about the comparison between Soy Wax Candles and Parrafin Wax Candles

Most people have never heard or know about Soy Wax or Soy Candles. This is because for a very long time the most common and widely used wax for candles was Paraffin. But the problem with Paraffin candles are they are toxic and harmful to our health and the environment.

This is because Paraffin is derived from the petroleum industry. It is the left over sludge from the bottom of the oil barrels and residue of refined petroleum. Where as soy wax is made from sustainable and renewable agricultural resources to produce the Soy Candle.

Burning paraffin based candles releases soot, which is the same as burning diesel fuel or fumes given off from a diesel engine. This means you could be releasing harmful substances into the air including benzene, toluene which are known carcinogens. When in the same area as these paraffin candles, you are breathing in soot particles which travel deep into the lungs. The soot also contains neurotoxins and reproductive toxins. Paraffin wax actually contains 11 documented toxins.

Soy candles are 100% natural, biodegradable and completely non-toxic, making it the safe alternative to burning candles. Soy wax candles burn up to an average of 25% to 50% longer than Paraffin and also burns at a much lower temperature than beeswax and paraffin candles. Making soy candle safer around children.

Most candles are fragranced to release the beautiful aroma of your favorite oils around the room. However, the paraffin candle must be blended with other chemicals to be able to release fragrances. Whereas soy candles release the fragrances naturally, so you only get the beautiful smell of the fragrance, not the toxic soot and chemicals released from the paraffin candle.

Not only are soy candles better and healthier to burn, but you are also supporting the farmer, not the oil industry. The soy wax is made from hydrogenated soybean oil, which is a renewable source and chemicals are not used in the process.

Soy wax is water-soluble, meaning it can be easily cleaned from your glass or tin containers with hot soapy water, making it easy to remove from fabric and carpets.

As more people learn about the harmful effects of burning paraffin candles in their homes, they'll soon realize that the only candle to burn is the Natural and Healthy Alternative soy wax candle.
