Soy Wax Candle Facts

There is a new wax for making candles. Gone are the days of the toxic, fast burning paraffin wax candles that produce harmful soot. Enter the new, better preferred wax for making candles, Soy Wax.

Lets have a closer look at this wonderful new wax used in soy candles.

  • Soy wax candles are made from all natural compounds from a renewable and sustainable sources, a preferred alternative to the non-renewable petroleum-based paraffin wax.
  • When burned, soy wax candles release not toxins into the air.
  • Due to the low melting point of soy candles, they burn cooler and longer, making it safer than paraffin. This feature allows the fragrances to be released into the air faster and they last longer.
  • Soy wax candles burns longer than paraffin, an average of 25% to 50%.
  • Soy Candles are clean burning with no petro soot emissions which are harmful to our health.
  • Since soy wax is water-soluble, you can easily clean out your soy candle containers, glass and tin for refilling or efficient recycling.
  • It can also be easily removed from fabric and other materials such as clothing and carpet with hot soapy water.
With all these facts of soy wax candles, it's no wonder consumers are demanding a safe alternative and becoming the chosen wax for candles.

In order to make the soy wax, we need lots of soybeans, which are grown by farmers year after year. The soybeans are processed by crushing and pressing the actual soybeans to produce the soybean oil. To make just 11 pounds of soybean oil, you need 60 pound Bushel, which is the traditional farm measure. Turning this 11 pound of soybean oil into soy wax is done by a process of partial hydrogenation of the soybean oil.

Soy candles have a very high percentage of soybean oil, with a small percentage of other vegetable oil added to achieve better performance. Such as a smooth and even wax surface, stronger fragrance throw, longer shelf life, ease of mould release and colour distribution.

The soy wax used in the soy candles from Australian Soy Candles use soy wax that is 100% vegetable with no chemicals, animal fats or petroleum additives. So you are sure to get the very best soy wax candles from Australian Soy Candles.

Australian Soy Candles have been making 100% Soy Wax Candles for over 6 years and have a wide range of quality hand poured candles for many occasions. To view the range of candles available and for more information, visit www.AustralianSoyCandles.com
